Vicious Cycle of Violations!

Genesis is story of how human civilization began. Yet it introduces us to different situations we all face on a day to day basis. Treachery, murder, cheating, lying its all found in the first few chapters of the Bible. Look at Abraham in Gerar telling to the Abimelek that Sarai is his sister(Gen 20:2) , Isaac does the same in Genesis 26 in the same place. Cain kills Abel because of jealosy. Ishmael mocks Isaac. Jacob faces hostility from Esau, Joseph rejected by brothers- we see this vicious cycle of violations. What should we understand from this?

We face this all along in life. We can face uneasy and hostile situations in our own family and we should do what the patriarchs and matriarchs did so well. They prayed, they persevered and they prospered. When things went crazy God stood for those whom He chose. In human weakness, God's strength was made perfect. So don't give up. When life becomes crazy and hard, choose to see the God of Genesis. God honored the covenant with Abraham. He didn't allow Abimelek to touch Sarah or Rebekah. He delivered Jacob from Esau and Laban.

When the visible world becomes hostile , look at the call and blessings of the invisible God over you. You will make it by His grace.
