
Mental Health- More tips!
Mental Health is a much talked about subject these days. Specially post CoVID we see how families are connected via online platforms but distant emotionally. We are connected to WiFi and Mobile networks but we are disconnected from human relationships. We somehow equate all our problems to fellow humans and we forget that its a deeper issue and we alienate ourselves and find solace in our online networks. Some tips to have a sound mental health in continuity with what we learnt last weekend!
1) Don't dwell on the past. Failure, trauma, discouragements can happen to anyone. We need to learn lessons and move forward with hope.
2)Don't compare your life with someone else. Comparisons are always detrimental to your life. Each one of us is unique and we have our strengths and space . Capitalise on your strengths and live with joy.
3) Life is more important than food, and the body is more important than what you put on - Luke 12:23-25. Its not about the food we eat or the clothes we wear. Life and its purpose holds much value.
4) In the AI world, use the tools wisely that it doesn't hamper your creativity and talents. Never substitute reading, hearing and writing. Take time to volunteer in your church,community for issues that are close to your heart.
5)Hearing good music soothens our soul. Christian gospel songs and hymns with good lyrics and tune revives us. Take some time to listen, learn and sing the songs that bless your life(Col 3:16)
6)Reduce junk food intake as its detrimental to our body.
7)Engage with people who support, encourage and build you up. Spend time with your family, loved ones and cultivate a humorous spirit too. A cheerful heart is a good medicine(Prov 17:22)
8)When there are issues that you cannot cope up with, talk with a good friend, advisor, mentor. Remember God is in control and all is well.(Prov 11:14)
