Local Church and Responsibilities

Your local church is not an entertainment zone where we are just spectators. We participate actively in the growth and health of the local community.

The church is designed to be a place of healing, grace and comfort. Depression and oppression flee in the presence of the Lord.Its therefore on all of us to contribute much to the cause of the body of Christ.

1. The church is a training centre . We learn from one another and from the inspired word of God. Every time the pastor speaks on the Word, remember He is using an ancient manuscript inspired by the Spirit of God and passed on through ages. Use every opportunity to be trained .

2. The church is the army of Christ. We are in a battle and God uses His body to take on the principalities and powers in a locality. As the Word is preached and in Praise and Worship, the presence of God will come down among the saints and evil permeating the atmosphere will be dealt with.

3. Contribute to the corporate worship. Be diligent in seeking our opportunities to use your God given skills and in volunteering. Be a model in prayer. Your contribution in prayer can do great things when the gathering takes place.

4. When the leadership needs support, do it with all your heart. When Moses’ hands were lifted up, victory was for the Israelites. When Aaron and Hur saw that realm, they contributed in supporting the leadership. A word of encouragement, acknowledgement and support can inspire your pastoral leadership.

5. Never be bound to ego and tradition. The church is not just the pastor building the believers. Its all building one another. Moses lifting up the hands, Aaron and Hur supporting and Joshua and army fighting it out . All are important .

6.Go beyond the call of duty to strengthen the local body of believers. When the church is strong, your blessings are eternal and strong.

7.Train your children to participate in the spiritual fellowship at a very young age. Inspire them. Model before them and they will be quick to learn the truths of God’s word.

"You will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth."(1 Tim 3:15)
