Hormuz, Hanta and Hero Vijay

The Strait of Hormuz is where the US-Iran war is concentrated on. With the US and Iran imposing a double blockade, we see the war taking a new shape. President Trump had declared the end of Operation Epic Fury and started with Operation Freedom, aimed at safe transit for vessels stuck at Hormuz. Iran still declares it own the strait and the reports where the Iranian navy fired some shots at vessels were reported. Though we hoped for a ceasefire and an end to this war , yet we see attacks on UAE refineries and Israel attacking parts of Lebanon again. Peace is not at hindsight atleast for now.

MV Hondius a cruise ship reported an outbreak of Hantavirus as one man died of respiratory issues and later his wife also developed symptoms and passed away. WHO in a press conference has given a low risk level now, yet many countries are in a state of panic as many passengers who disembarked have crossed into their borders. The ship is expected to dock at Canary Islands in Spain. Inside the ship, the cabins are disinfected and passengers are isolated. Totally we know of eight symptomatic cases of which three have died. Nearly 150 passengers and crew members from 23 different nationalities are still on board the ship, with several reportedly disembarking before news of the outbreak emerged.

The high voltage state elections in India for five states ended with a mixed outcome for BJP and the Congress. While three sitting CMs lost their turf , the talking point was how TVK , a new party in Tamil Nadu came to power with majority of youth(the GenZs) and the women voting for the film actor hero, Vijay. Though they lack absolute majority, political power is at play and we see a radical shift in voting patterns as we saw in Sri Lanka and Nepal. GenZ longs for change and are causing their voice to be heard across the world.

The world is reeling from one virus to another, one battle to another and with myriad of issues, we need to keep our focus right- " fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith."(Heb 12:2)
