85 seconds to Midnight!

The world is closer than ever to destruction, scientists have said, as the Doomsday Clock was set at 85 seconds to midnight for 2026, the gloomiest assessment of humanity’s prospects since the beginning of the tradition in 1947. We see world leaders sparring against one another at every possible instance. Donald Trump instituted the Board of Peace for Gaza administration. Who would have thought Canada and US , Europe and US having difference of opinion? As we see USS Abraham Lincoln, "the massive armada" heading towards Iran , the world is about to change. We hear about the New World Order. Mike Carney, the Prime Minister of Canada during the World Economic Forus said "that the rules based order is fading, that the strong can do what they can, and the weak must suffer what they must."

"Argue, the middle powers must act together, because if we're not at the table, we're on the menu."

Towards the end of his speech , Mike Carney quipped,

"We know the old order is not coming back. We shouldn't mourn it. Nostalgia is not a strategy, but we believe that from the fracture, we can build something bigger, better, stronger, more just. This is the task of the middle powers, the countries that have the most to lose from a world of fortresses and most to gain from genuine cooperation.

The powerful have their power.

But we have something too – the capacity to stop pretending, to name reality, to build our strength at home and to act together."-

These are clearly signs of what our Lord Jesus called as "birthpangs" (Matt 24:8) We see Matthew 24:7 fulfilled as the Lord said "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom".

We are not called to sit passively and pessimistically. We have a call and that's to look up for our redemption is near(Luke 21:28).

We also have a job to look around us for the harvest is plenty. "Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest."(John 4:35)

We need to prepare ourselves, pray and proclaim the good news with urgency. May the Lord bless us!
